REVIEW: Sekirei

Studio: Seven Arcs

Genre: Action, Marital Arts, Romance, Harem

Episodes: 12

One day, Minato meets a girl named Musubi, who literally falls from the sky. Minato soon learns that she is a "Sekirei" who chose him as her "Ashikabi", a human with special genes that allows them to "mark" (form a contract with) Sekirei. This binds the Sekirei to him and allows them to use their full power in the elimination battle with other Sekirei. Made up of cute girls, buxom women, and bish┼Źnen, the Sekirei fight in a dangerous and sometimes deadly competition known as "The Game" or the "Sekirei Plan" organized by the mysterious and powerful MBI Corporation.

I ran across Sekirei one day while browsing Netflix and I said what the hell why not give it a shot. So I started watching it and low and behold it’s a harem… I am not a big fan of harems but I kept on watching anyway and I’m rather glad I did. The fight scenes flow nicely, full of action and some cool special powers. The story is decent but it’s nothing new. The animation is well done and has a nice feel to it. The one problem I had with Sekirei is the giant breast. I’m sorry but this bugs the hell out of me. I was waiting the whole time for the women to fall flat on their faces from the gravitational pull of the earth. Ginormous bust size aside, Sekirei is a solid anime and I enjoyed it more than I thought I would. So on that note OtakuStew.net gives Sekirei…

Three out of Five stars...
